Io sto qui da un annetto ormai.
Devo dire che ho alle spalle un paio d'anni in Nuova Zelanda (meravigiosa ma molto "diversa" per chi e' abituto all'Europa!) e un anno terribile in UK (vicino Londra).
L'Irlanda non e' male: mi piace molto di piu' dell'Inghilterra e la gente e' mooolto piu' gentile, interessante, chiacchereccia e relaxed. Non so che brutte esperienze abbiate avuto con i locali, ma io li trovo piuttosto simpatici (un po' meno le donne, ma non sono "in cerca" quindi posso passarci sopra).
Mi pareva che il paragrafo a pag 6 di questo

indicasse che chi non ha bisogno di permessi per abitare qui (cioe' tutti i cittadini UE) sono benvenuti... cito:
‘‘Entitlement 6A.—(1) A person born in the island of Ireland
to Irish shall not be entitled to be an Irish citizen unless a citizenship of persons born parent of that person has, during the period of 4
to certain years immediately preceding the person’s birth,
non- been resident in the island of Ireland for a period
nationals. of not less than 3 years or periods the aggregate
of which is not less than 3 years.
(2) This section does not apply to—
[...]
"(d) a person born in the island of Ireland—
(i) to parents at least one of whom was
at the time of the person’s birth a
person entitled to reside in the
State without any restriction on
his or her period of residence
