Katy talks about JT

You know how they say it's hard to look at yourself on camera? I don't know WHO says it, (I am sure someone does), but that's sort of how I feel about this. Maybe not my best ever look, to be honest. But as someone else most definitely said, the show must go on.

Even though I have known John longer than I've known Roger, he and I didn't start to become friendly until about 3 years ago. Maybe it's cause I was there when he left after "THANK YOU," and while we initially kept in touch, we just didn't after a while. So when we "got back together" so to speak, it was a little weird. Well, for me it was. I am sure he didn't give it as much thought as I did.

My mom came to a DD show in Atlantic City a few years ago. We were walking backstage and we were holding hands - to be honest, if I thought anyone else was around, I probably wouldn't have been holding her hand – I am a little old for such things (maybe)! But there we were, and someone called from behind "Katy Krassner, that is so sweet!" I knew it was John, I didn't have to turn around. But I did. And he had a genuinely sweet and interested smile at the scene that had unfolded in front of him.

From that point forward, JT and I became email buddies. We seem to have longer conversations over email than on the telephone, though recently we had a marathon phone call wherein with both decided we should probably talk more often. We almost always talk about pop culture, never anything too deep, and that's likely what we give to one another. Just some good fun.

This is the JT I know. And I really really like him.
